Inside My EyesBy BlindEagleblindeagle@codeysworld.comCopyright © 2009 by BlindEagle. All rights reserved. |
A man, woman, boy or girl?
Wondering who that person just staring at me
I see people in groups of two or three
Some laughing, talking and pointing at me
Am I ugly, fat or a freak in the night?
Did I say something wrong or refuse to do right
Why all the stone faces and glares shooting darts at my face?
Am I black, white, red or an unknown race?
Eyes of blue green, hazel or dark brown
Is that your reason for wearing a frown?
My mouth stays quiet and my tongue still
The world around me attacks my strong will
To be or not to be spills out and runs down my face
Shoving me pushing me to keep me in place
Eyes of a stranger is all I see
To see inside me you would never want to be
Red to black, brown to blue
Where is it against the law to tell the truth?
Look through my eyes and what will you see
A man, woman, boy or girl fighting to be free
Do you dare to see through me?
