It's Innocence, You Know?

Do you remember as a child,
The simple silly things that made you smile?

A puppy or a kitten chasing its tail,
Or realizing things are different between a boy and a girl.

The need to take a bath – what in the world for,
Or displaying your artistry by drawing on the wall.

My marbles, socks and toilet paper flushed down the hole,
And the slices of bread floating in the fish bowl.

Putting paper clips in the square thing on the wall,
Or crying for mommy because of a bad fall.

Sticks and stones may break my bones,
And teasing words do harm me.

Yuk Yuk Yuk that ugly girl kissed me!
Want to play with my cuddly frog, his name is Billy.
Hey let’s make everyone breakfast with flour, eggs, coffee and milk!
Wow! that looks like the cool mud slide we built.
The monsters are back under my bed tonight,
