Let me tell you about a boy named Sam
Who was young as an idea with out a plan?
Struggling to keep his siblings safe
From the man who brought him here in the first place
No matter what he tried to say or do?
The thanks that he received came from the tip of a boot
What did he do wrong, he thought love was good
He was beaten down for wanting love because dad wasn’t in the mood
So drawing back up into his heart covered shell
He could not tell the difference between life and hell
Then came that fatal night
When his innocent soul was denied life
To the ground poured out the blood
Just to protect the little ones he loved
Staring out in the middle of the night
As his spirit drifted clear out of sight
What was he suppose to be, he will never see
Love oh love, where were you tonight
When the one I loved disappeared in the night
The one that I love is now free, yeah the one hanging on that tree.
