The Next Love The First LoveBy BlindEagleblindeagle@codeysworld.comCopyright © 2010 by BlindEagle. All rights reserved. |
I thought you were the one
The times we spent laughing and having fun
The way you held me in the night
When confusion and fear fought hard with an inner fight
We walked along the hot sandy beaches
Tasting lips like fresh summer peaches
Two different shades we walked as one
The blue of your eyes unseen outshined the sun
My heart was fixed and my mind made up
Agreeing to stick it out no matter how tough
Across the street, across the state, or around the world
I set my heart on us, winning the odds dismissing others doubtful words
As blind as my sight my heart must have been
Thinking it would work, but can love float on the wind?
Through the chest and out the back
I swore it was worse than a fatal heart attack
The words I heard went through me like a bolt of lightening
Worse then the most horrifying movie, they were both sickening and frightening
In a flash it was gone, love to be, life to live together, now I’m all alone
The feeling of lost could not be compared
To the emptiness I felt while crying on my bed
In the dark twice deep, I felt as dead
Then, a warm feeling like from a light shone around me
“You are not alone though its what you now feel
Don’t doubt what you now hear and have no fear
Love has no boundaries and can not be chained
It’s always present even in the midst of rejection, hurt and pain
Love is free to all without a price
Many misuse and abuse it leaving it to wander in the night
It’s the beauty of the heart that provides a home for love
Like a pair of mating eagles that fly above”
The stars shine forth its beauty at night
The sun shines brightly at day with all its splendor and might
One in the dark, one in the day,
yet they yield to one another, nor block each other’s beautiful display
Like the after effects of a nuclear war
The gloom doom brothers shut the heart’s door
Shattered into dust and gone with the wind
The heart alone, abandoned, unable to feel again
In the dark of the night
When all felt lost I notice a distant light
Friend or foe I did not know
Approaching me in quiet but gently slow
The warmth like the day sun shone around
Releasing the grip I held on to my frown
With a firm but gentle voice I was told
“Let love have its way as it was meant to be,
flowing from one to another roaming free
Be still for now and let things be,
don’t let bitterness and pain enclose what’s free
Another will come filled with love and fun,
who will shine out like the stars at night,
shining with beauty as the noon day sun
Regain yourself and stand up tall,
love will not fail you, there’s plenty for all
Trust in it and you will see,
just how amazingly wonderful true love can be.”
