What Day Is It?

1. It is a day earlier than I thought.
2. Could I now have dreamt today already,
3. For if it’s still yesterday and tomorrow,
4. Is not here yet, it cannot be today.
5.  
6. But if that is so, I may be asleep,
7. And when I awaken from this nightmare,
8. I’ll see this day is not really today,
9. Even if I think it is yesterday.
10.  
11. But what if I sleep on into the night,
12. And wake to find the day is tomorrow,
13. When really I dreamt it was yesterday,
14. Because I thought today was not today.
15.  
16. But, so long as you are sleeping with me,
17. I do not mind what day, now yonder dawns.
