Never Will They Be Voiced by Ellie Kan

Never Will They Be Voiced

My eyes have been hungry for the sight of you

Your deep caramel skin

And those calm coffee eyes

That stare at me in class

While you should be working

Your hands are always writing my name

In the margins of your papers

Absentmindedly sketching hearts

As the teacher drones on

About a subject you have already learned

My heart will always fill with joy

When you walk into the room

My face grows red, and hands start to sweat

All because of your sweet face

That has always captured my attention

Your legs seem to always be weak

As you try to approach me

They seem to always be doing a dance

Trying to make up their mind

About whether to voice your feelings

Our feelings for each other are mutual,

But still, they will never be voiced.
