Coming OutFlash Fiction By TrabThe pressures are mounting, and I feel a genetic imperative that clearly cannot be denied for long. Urges, pressure, need. How long can I remain in this protective cocoon; this shield against the outside world? A growing, swelling, changing within myself says that yes, it truly is time to come out. I hunger for the freedom to be, to live, to experience. With one great series of lunging pecks, I burst through the eggshell that has held me in. I have come out, and revel at the sight of the barnyard around me. Copyright © 2008 by Trab. All rights reserved. |
