CIRCLES

a poem by codey

  1. there comes a new warmth, and life reappears
  2. and gone from memory are yesterdays tears
  3. no more grey skies to darken the mood
  4. nature waves her arm and all is renewed
  5.
  6. the sun standing tall, displays its guilt
  7. as water starved plants begin to wilt
  8. in the mid-day heat, the animals swelter
  9. and retreat to the shade but find little shelter
  10.
  11. the days shorten as summer grows old
  12. the northwind is bringing the snow and the cold
  13. the leaves on the trees all wither and brown
  14. dislodged by the wind they carpet the ground
  15.
  16. dark clouds streak the sky, like a large mourning band
  17. and silence lays heavy across the land
  18. animals cower, hearts filled with dread
  19. the ground is frozen, all appears dead
  20.
  21. then comes a new warmth, and life reappears
  22. and gone from memory are yesterdays tears
  23. no more grey skies to darken the mood
  24. nature waves her arm and all is renewed
