Memoriam

  1. I feel your eyes upon me
  2. in everything I do.
  3. There's not a minute in any day
  4. that I don't think of you.
  5. I feel the comfort of your love
  6. in life's unsettled clime.
  7. I hear you speaking to me,
  8. in the recesses of my mind
  9. You whisper the past is for memories
  10. but not a place to dwell.
  11. Trying to relive the past,
  12. can make life a living Hell.
  13.  
  14. I can feel the distant nearness
  15. as our souls are still entwined.
  16. You now free to soar and swoop,
  17. I still trapped in my earthly rind.
  18. You free of human cares and woes
  19. as you've moved to another plane.
  20. I with little more to lose,
  21. and even less to gain.
  22. You to live with Angels
  23. in everlasting light.
  24. I to do battle with demons
  25. in shadows and the darkness of night.
  26.  
  27. I know I'll have to live with the past,
  28. my destiny in coming years.
  29. I can only hope, when I close my eyes,
  30. I will see you still, through my tears.
